unanswered question link thread

With Craig and Medium Tex busy and their presence sorely missed, I and a few of the other regular permanent portfolio posters, have noticed that every now and then, a new investor/new forum members questions are getting missed in the rush to answer the big questions such as morality, religion, statism VS anarchy and the perfectly fine-tuned Paleo diet.

I am confident that we have plenty of people here who can give a solid "standard permanent portfolio" answer to any of these questions, and quite a few more who can fine tune those answers with in-depth analysis.. lets try to keep up the great work started by Craig and Medium Tex and spread the wisdom to those who ask...

If you see a question going unanswered, or a thread that needs traffic, or one that you are just not feeling up to answering, or if you need to bring attention to your unanswered question, please post a link to it here. and lets all jump in as best we can when this thread pops up in your unread posts list...

ThanksĀ

Thank you l82start. This is sure to be a valuable thread and much appreciated. Craig and MediumTex established a solid foundation with their commentary on this board and I personally would benefit from the knowledge of more seasoned investors during periods of uncertainty. It's been a difficult week, but only because I have anchored on a previous portfolio high point. The PP is performing as advertised, but pre-conceived notions of the portfolio hedging equity declines may require some mental adjustment.

I am most pleased with the PP when equities lose value and the PP eakes out a modest positive return.

Are stop loss orders part of the PP? If so what are the the specifics?

No, you rely on the rebalancing bands instead.
