Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Dress Sets Off $1,600 Frenzy by Parents

Aaryn Costello is searching for the perfect dress, a 30-inch-long light-blue number with a sparkly bodice and a detachable white cape.

That would be the Princess Elsa dress from the Walt Disney Co. (DIS +1.13%, news) hit “Frozen,”? the most sought after fashion item among the kindergarten set. Stores across the U.S. are sold out, and originals are being offered for as much as $1,600 on EBay Inc. (EBAY +1.99%, news) Desperate parents are sewing their own or shelling out up to $225 for replicas on craft sites like Etsy.com.

“Every mom in the world is dying for this dress,”? said Costello, a Los Angeles marketing consultant with a “Frozen”? obsessed 4-year-old. “The lucky moms who have found this dress for their daughters brag about their success and unanimously proclaim how their kid can’t stop wearing it.”?
Just WOW... Can we call this the "Frozen Bubble"

I have 3 boys under 5 and even they are mesmerized by frozen.  Disney understands their customers, and has MASTERED the ability to capitalize on it.

This is part of the "princess" bubble, in which every little girl thinks she is a princess. Unfortunately the parents are playing along.

Books, stories, movies, etc about princesses have been around a very long time.

I get what you're saying, but there is nothing new with Frozen in that regard.  And for the record, I'm married to a princess and it has its challenges.
