EDV instead of TLT

I have read some posts that question the tactics of TLT. Would EDV, the Vanguard ETF be a comparable investment?
I agree with Desert on holding treasuries directly if possible.
To answer your question directly, no EDV should not be expected to perform the same. It will have more volatility due to it being a fund of zero-coupon treasuries.
Per the prospectus "The Fund seeks to track the performance of an index of extended-duration zero-coupon U.S. Treasury securities."
