I have listened to their radio broadcasts for slightly over 20 years and have found them to be pretty good stock pickers and overall market observers.  I have also met with and attended seminars (for nominal fees) given by several members of the group.  They don't follow the PP strategy, but I have found them well worth listening to for VP ideas.  I think they also have balanced and sensible views about how to use gold and other unconventional investments in portfolios.

They started the radio show in the early 1990s as a way to explain to their customers why they were investing in certain stocks and bonds.  They are also obviously advertising to gain more clients, but they don't engage in any hard sell or obnoxious sales tactics.  I don't have an account with them as I am very much a hands-on DIY type of investor, but if you are interested in the mechanics of value investing I think you would find their commentary quite valuable (and free!).  The group also has some good financial planners and occasionally feature them on their shows.
