Can you make this stuff up?

George Zimmerman Emerged From Hiding for Truck Crash Rescue

"George Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, emerged to help rescue a family who was trapped in an overturned vehicle, police said today.

Zimmerman was one of two men who came to the aid of a family of four -- two parents and two children -- trapped inside a blue Ford Explorer SUV that had rolled over after traveling off the highway in Sanford, Fla. at approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The crash occurred at the intersection of I-4 and route Route 46, police said. The crash site is less than a mile from where Zimmerman shot Martin."

What a monster!

The story didn't say anything about the race of the people in the car. Wouldn't it be great if they were black?

Well this just proves he was a wannabe cop. What kind of reckless, irresponsible hothead rescues the endangered without proper government licensure? Clearly he should have let that family burn to death.

At the very least, being that there was a fire involved, I think it is safe to say that the family that he helped rescue was "blackened". :)

Would that help get him "brownie" points with Obama, Holder, Sharpton, and Jackson?

Probably not. I'm thinking more along the lines of a tear-jerker movie on the Lifetime Movie Channel.

George Zimmerman has never struck me as anything other than a regular guy who felt a sense of commitment to his community.  When he was younger, he got a in a little trouble, like so many young men do, but he seems much more mature today and just seems like a guy who wants to be helpful.

In the case of Martin's death after he attacked and tried to kill Zimmerman, Zimmerman's willingness to take risks to protect his community didn't pay off.  In the case of this family that might have died without his help, hit willingness to take risks to protect his community DID pay off.

It would be nice if someone in the media would simply tell the story I am describing above.  In many ways, Zimmerman is providing more service to his community as a private citizen than he ever could even if he were a cop.  He's exercising responsible concealed carry techniques, waiting to even draw his weapon until his attacker had him pinned down and was dribbling his head on the sidewalk (wouldn't it be nice if the police exercised similar restraint).  He's exercising responsibility in stopping and rendering aid, even at risk to himself (something tells me that a lot of real police officers might have waited for the fire department to arrive, though maybe not).

In any case, I think that Zimmerman ought to receive some kind of community service award, especially considering how many sacrifices he has made in order to serve his community.

Here is something interesting to ponder: Assume Martin had succeeded in killing Zimmerman, which would have almost certainly resulted in a capital murder charge against Martin (beating a man to death in front of his neighbors when the man never laid a hand on the attacker and never resisted the attacker in any way is probably good for a capital murder charge).  Martin would be in jail right now, to eventually be killed by the State of Florida, Zimmerman would be dead because Martin would have killed him, and this family of four might also have perished if Zimmerman hadn't come along and rescued them.

In other words, it's entirely possible that by defending himself against an attacker by using deadly force in accordance with state law, Zimmerman might have actually turned potentially six human deaths into just one, and that one death would have been the only one of the six people who attacked anyone and beat anyone's dome on the sidewalk.

Although this book is not professionally edited...I found it very enlightening.

I don't watch the mainstream news (or any news for that matter), but I was curious so I dug up a clip on CNN.  Sure enough they covered the story for maybe 20 seconds and then rolled straight into "In the same neighborhood is a church where a meeting organized by the NAACP is called 'George Zimmerman, This Ain't Over.' They want GZ to lose his concealed carry permit..." and so on.
