Gyroscopic Investing

Bank earnings have been phenomenal to say the least, yet the overall US market has not reacted accordingly, or have they? Were the likes of Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Citi, etc bid up before their earnings release? I don't have a concentration in financials, but seem to recall the sector rallying on good earnings.
