5+ months and there's still an ammo shortage?  Why hasn't supply caught up to demand?  Especially for .22lr?

Any thoughts?

I suspect they are catching up on backorders.

I shoot a lot for competitions/practice and am running low on some reloading supply (powder). But I do see supplies loosening up now.

My only concern is that in the rush to meet orders that QC is going to decline.

I was at our local Academy Sports Store the other day. Seemed like they had more ammo on the shelves but .22LR and .22Magnum are still in short supply.  They had none in the store and when it comes in, they keep it in a separate area and limit the amount you may purchase.  Prices for ammo are ridiculous but that may be the new "normal" - only time will tell.  I suspect that the demand is still outstripping the supply for .22LR as the sales personnel at Academy mentioned that once a shipment comes in, it is sold out the same day, even with the limits placed on each customer.

but knowing CA the attempt to ban will keep coming up and if it does pass eventually the other "not so bright "states will likely follow the example, it would create a defacto ban on ammo if they did...
