I am going through a rough part of my life, and the PP is the last thing on my mind. If you find yourself pre-occupied with the PP's recent lackluster performance, do yourself a favor and focus on bigger and better things. Life may be passing you by.
That is all.

Peace of mind rather than performance chasing. That's really what it's all about isn't it?
You'll get through it, don't worry.

Sorry to hear you're going through a rough time.
Oddly, I tend to check my portfolio more when I'm stressed or bummed out about something. It actually makes me feel better for some reason.

Melveyr,
Your outlook on things implies wisdom well beyond your years, and that's based on all interactions with you on this board.
I'm sure if anyone can get themselves through a rough patch and come out swinging on the other side, it's you.
Best wishes with your challenges.

Hope you become stronger in life. Life is not easy.
This opens a new question:
HOW MUCH MONEY SHOULD WE SAVE IN OUR LIFES TO AVOID BEING SLAVE OF MONEY?

I have often said that there are only two kinds of problems in life: the kind that can be solved by money, and the kind that cannot. You always want the former.
Wishing you the best, melvyr.

Ryan, I'm still enjoying shaving with an Edwin Jagger razor that was recommended by you.
I bought a pork belly because of you. Well, that didn't come out as hoped, but I cooked it in a rice cooker and not per your recipe, so my fault.
I don't have a working oven right now.
Still enjoying Stable Investing whenever you put out a new entry.
Whatever's bringing you down, I hope it passes soon.
Cheers.

I think Melveyr's comment sums up one of the major reasons I chose the Permanent Portfolio. When life happens and the last thing you need to worry about is your investment performance, the PP is the best portfolio in which to be invested.
