Have Gold, LTT's, and Stocks Ever Had A Simultaneous Sustained Loss?

I noticed today that gold, LTT's, and stocks were all down. They also all seem to be overvalued, but who knows? Has there ever been an extended period of time where all 3 declined in unison?

Well, they all went up yesterday! I suspect it's just noise.

Yes. The PP has had a couple of brutal drawdowns in the past, but they are hidden when looking at nominal annual data.

Aggressive fed tightenings combined with high inflation were the killer. Even cash was suffering from drawdowns in these periods though, so there wasn't really anywhere to hide.

In a tight money recession there is no avoiding pain. The only place to hide is in cash. Back when Paul Volker finally jacked interest rates to break the inflation of the 70's - early 80's it was U G L Y. But it didn't last.
