Interesting article about the Pentagon regulating film content if producers are to use their equipment...

One piece I found interesting... the F-35 fighter jet program that was believed to have cost $400 Billion, but is believed to actually have been closer to $1.5 Trillion. That's $5,000 per US citizen. I can't tell if I don't believe it, or if I just don't want to.
Even if it's only $400 Billion, these things better wipe my ass if I ask one to.

IMHO, military spending has become a backdoor constant peacetime fiscal stimulus program. It's an open secret that a lot of these funds are wasted and that prices have ballooned out of control, but all that money trickles back into the private sector and juices the economy, just like MR proponents want!
Of course, it also distorts the real economy by incentivizing the further growth of the military-industrial complex and encouraging all those shiny toys to get used.

isn't that true of ANYTHING the gov't spends money on? i.e. the nature of gov't doing things rather than private enterprise is that people are going to be more frugal with their own money.
Yes private enterprise can be just as stupid as the gov't in many ways, but this is not one.

I suppose it will, though I also suspects that its definition of "wipe" is fairly harsh.

It would make too much sense to privatize all government services and throw open the borders. What will conservatives have to complain about then?
