Central Banks Buy Stocks & GDP Measurement might Change

Here are two articles I found interesting today.

Bloomberg reports that Central Banks around the world are buying equities. I sure wish they would invest that new money in shares of me!

NPR reports that the US government wants to change the way it reports GDP to boost GDP! It would now include things like the time a singer spends developing a new song. This is strange since no actual money changes hands, and therefore there are no prices to report.

Jonathan, if you don't like the way the numbers are coming out then just massage them. If GDP isn't high enough, just change the formula. It seems that with a willing press and a "low-information voter" (thanks Rush!) this Administration can get away with anything.

I thought that 1984 had already passed.
