So Many Police Getting Shot

Are we seeing more police getting shot in the U.S. than ever before, or is this merely something the media has begun to focus on, like shark attacks? It seems like the former, and it's very disturbing.
I'm used to reading reports of suicide bombers at recruitment centers in Karachi (also terrible). I don't remember hearing or reading about so many American policemen being murdered. It's every week now.

It's just the media trying to drum up support for gun control by increasing the reporting of police officers getting shot. While tragic, the actual number of police officers shot and killed in action has been pretty steady for the past decade according to the FBI:

There have also been a number of prosecutors murdered in recent days and weeks. I can't recall a time when this has happened.

Not really. The mob (at least the old guard Sicilians) had hard rule against going after cops or judges etc. Bribe them? Sure. But they could not be killed because it would bring massive retaliation from the rest. And that was bad for business.

The three murders of prosecutors and a family member in recent weeks here in Texas have been quite unusual.

I suppose I was lumping them in with the police killings.
The director of Colorado prisons, the Texas killings mentioned by MT, and so on.

I'm surprised prosecutors haven't been gone after long before now. They're as corrupt as the police for the most part, caring more about their ego bubble than justice.

I think Woody Harrelson's dad went to prison a long time ago for murdering (or plotting to murder) a federal judge. Something like that anyway.
