Awesome songs you completely forgot about

We've all had it happen.  You'll be driving in your car, or watching TV, or engaged in some other activity and a song will come on that is totally awesome and was completely forgotten by you.  Obviously these won't all be to everyone's taste, but I wanted to have a thread where these gems could be posted when these "holy crap, how did I forget that song!  Download! Download!" moments could be recorded and shared.  If you forgot, perhaps I did too.  My iPhone has plenty of space left for some good tunes.

Today I heard "Return of the Mack" by Mark Morrison for the first time in years.  Vintage 90's R&B.

I'll play.  How about "The Dream Police" by Cheap Trick or perhaps "Tumbling Dice" by the Stones.

"Ghost Riders in the Sky" by the Outlaws is another obscure release that I like.  BTW this song was originally written in 1948 and was based on a legend the writer heard from an old cowboy back in the 1920's.  There has been folk, pop, country and western, country rock, and heavy metal versions of this song through the years since it was written.

None of these songs charted when they were released but have become of cult youtube classics in recent years.

Ok.  I'll play (and show my age at the same time).

Liar, Liar by the Castaways.  Best wheezy organ riffs anywhere, anytime.

Incense and Peppermints by the Strawberry Alarm Clock.  Enough said.

I had this happen while watching a documentary about the Bee Gees. When I was coming of age they were considered "Bubble Gum" and then later on they turned to disco so I didn't hold them in very high regard as musicians. Listening to them perform in concerts over the years however, it dawned on me that they made some really great music. I bought a greatest hits album and just about every song on it turned out to be one of the "Awesome songs I completely forgot about", from the Saturday Night Fever classics to the old tunes like "I started a joke" and "Massachusetts".

I second that.  A copy of Best of Bee Gees from 1969 was the first album I ever listened to on my Walkman clone.

Sister Hazel - All For You

Dion - Runaround Sue

Damn, with a few mods this would have been an awesome running cadence when I was in the Army.  Perfect rhythm.
