Regular use of aspirin can almost triple the chance of developing a
condition that causes more older people in Britain to lose their sight
than any other, researchers are warning.

“For patients at risk of cardiovascular disease, the health risks of stopping or not prescribing aspirin are much higher than those of developing wet AMD. There are treatments for wet AMD as long as it is diagnosed in time.”?

Perhaps by the time you've been taking asprin for a year or three (for no significant benefit) there will be definitive data showing asprin's link to AMD.
