HELLO,
Acumulate all your savings and save money to a PP+VP is a complete headeache...
It is RISKY and boring :-)
Do you have any other SMART ways to spend a big part of your savings?
Examples:
# LAND
# HOUSES / APARTMENTS
# PRECIOUS METALS
# ART ?
# COLLECTION ITEMS, old cars...
I wait more options and your OPINION.
Thank you all!
Note? this is to make you think about other happier possibilities to spend money and time

Why is the PP a risky headache? How can it be both boring and risky? Mine is on near complete autopilot and exhibits far less risk than the stock market.
As for real assets, I would say that a paid-off house in a low property tax area is a very good idea. We all need housing, so the sooner you cover that, the better IMHO.
In terms of spending money on happiness, how about a fun and useful hobby like woodworking or camping?

Hi PS,
To save money is adictive, you will always want more and more.
And,
We always live once.

Exactly. So use some of your money to do things you enjoy. If you could amass a fortune over your investing lifetime, what good is it if you don't enjoy yourself along the way?
Sorry the error, i didnt pay attention.
You are right, i feel i have to enjoy more.
But what i enjoy it is not expensive, so i asked other ways of investing on real things, that we can see and touch.

Hi,
spending just for fun, it's not the right way
I'm looking for things that at least keep their value over time OR are important for LIFE.
Thank you and best regards

Some things I can think of:
- Water
- Farmland
- Timberland
- Well-built house made of stone or earth

If possible, invest in a house on enough land that you could support yourself if necessary. My home is on 11 acres, of which I have fenced pasture, two hay fields and room for a very large garden. I'm fully capable of growing all of my own food with room to spare. I currently raise goats but will be switching to a flock of hair sheep (dorpers) next year. It's a larger initial expense, but will likely hold its value better and is my hedge against out of control food prices.

Art & collectibles rely on greater fool theory in the way you have to find someone willing to pay more than you did (inflation adjusted) to gain from it. Yep, that's true of gold too, but gold is much more liquid. Land & housing don't have that problem as the can provide a rent, a shelter or food whether you use them by yourself or not.
Land & housing is a good investment in a time of crisis as it can sustain you whatever the overall economy becomes. They are very illiquid, though.

Buy a couple of backhoes and skiploaders and rent them out.
