Interesting article in Zerohedge about Goldman's analysis of the ECB options and upcoming meeting this week.

Do you think the ECB will announce something major?  And, if they do announce private asset purchases this week, what effect do you think it will have on the markets?  What effect will it have on the PP?  Would the effect be similar to QE3 from the Fed?

I always love posting an answer to a poll question and realizing that I picked the answer everyone else chose. Makes me feel like I'm a winner hah.

It does not really matter when or what the ECB announces.  All they can do is provide liquidity when the problem in Europe is insolvency.  Insolvency can only be resolved by member states growing a pair and dealing with the issue instead of kicking the can down the road by hoping for bailouts.

If government best represents the collective reality that "shit floats to the top", then denial is indeed a river in Egypt.
