An amendment that would legalize the use of propaganda on American audiences is being inserted into the latest defense authorization bill, BuzzFeed has learned.

The amendment would “strike the current ban on domestic dissemination”? of propaganda material produced by the State Department and the independent Broadcasting Board of Governors, according to the summary of the law at the House Rules Committee's official website.

Why stop there?  Why don't they just fully implement George Orwell's "1984" and go ahead and create a "Ministry of Truth."

I've just finally started reading this and the parallels are frightening.

Unfortunately some politicians today read that book as a instruction manual, not a warning.

a propaganda video about propaganda by a nation best known for its propaganda....  fun stuff...
the fact that they hit the nail on the head with many of there descriptions of western propaganda while still managing to produce a N Korean propaganda piece is amazing
Thanks so much for posting that.

Fascinating on many levels.

The unasked and unanswered question is why North Koreans don't see the exact same behavior in their own government.
Simonjester wrote: that's exactly why i found it so fun and amazing, it is very "meta" and convoluted to have a propaganda piece about propaganda that is inherently self referential, i love the way it makes the mind spin trying to figure out how their people don't see it, and their government can use the very same techniques in the video that describes how its done by the west....
