We all heard about potential issues with GLD, here's another good analysis by Jared Cummans based on the fund's prospectus and 10-K filing.

I am not a fan of GLD. I have no particular reason to believe it is not on the level. But I will make one observation. Some years ago I read their prospectus... three times, and there were areas that might as well have been written in Latin. I got the impression it was authored by lawyers with the object of covering their client's ass rather than trying to inform prospective investors how the fund works in clear language. My rule of thumb is that if I read something three times and don't grasp it, then it's time to move on. And I did.
Maybe they have redone their prospectus since then. But it's too late as far as I'm concerned. And anyways their F&E are a bit steep for my money.
