That's interesting. For the past year or two, I've been getting the vibe that Eastern Europe is making a comeback of sorts.Xan wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 10:01 am Vil, here's an article I just saw about Bulgaria. Interesting!

The people who vote for the bad politicians don't leave.
They've driven the taxpayers and many Americans out. It's a winning formula for the left.
Xan, thanks for sharing. Well.. while there is certainly some migration inflow in the recent months, I would rather use the stock charting term 'fake rally' (where you do have a price rally not confirmed by volume or alike, so it ends drooping..) to describe it. Same way as fake rallies I expect this inflow to be short-lived and most-important - fake. There are couple of reasons behind - once Covid is away, most likely some of those people will return back abroad; and what's worth to note - those are not exactly the people that Bulgaria is in desperate need of. Do not get me wrong on what I will say - there is a place for everyone under the sun... however, the vast majority of the 2-3 millions that left the country in the last 3 decades are high grade scientists, top quality IT geeks, ..., you name it, and on the other hand people that tend to return now are ones that did not settle well enough on their places abroad or ones that have kind of volatile jobs ..Xan wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 10:01 am Vil, here's an article I just saw about Bulgaria. I enjoyed Veliko Tarnovo, the old section of Plovdiv, Bansko & the Rila Monastery when I was there back in 2002. Only changed buses in Sofia so nothing to report there. Kriegs, unless you are going to Bulgaria to dry out, you must try the Menta!Kriegsspiel wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 3:30 pm I'll be visiting Bulgaria, hopefully, in the near future. I plan on checking out Nesebar, Sofia, and Varna.
I prefer the good old Reality-style Beer (which is the drink that lead me to PP and this forum, not the Doom Juice or the Hope SodaKriegsspiel wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 3:30 pm God damn Vil, put down that Doom Juice and pick up a Hope Soda.
