9/11 memorial activities

Today they held an elaborate program of somber ceremonies to mark the 20 year anniversary of 9/11. Presidents Biden, Obama and Clinton were at Ground Zero. There was a live reading of the names of all the people lost in the attack.
Bush 43 was in Pennsylvania at the Flight 93 memorial. His speech there was actually pretty good IMO. Biden is supposed to also go to Pennsylvania today and then the Pentagon site.

Trump was nowhere to be seen during these ceremonies. The only thing on his agenda today is scheduled at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida where he and Don Jr. will be guest fight commentators for tonight's boxing match. Although there is a report that he did visit a NYPD police precinct, so it seems he was in NY at some point today.

Of course if you asked Trump, he'd say why is everyone criticizing me, where was Carter? Not that it matters that Carter is 96 and recovered from a hip fracture last year.

What do you think? Does Trump's absence matter?
Is 9/11 worth honoring?
Should it be expected that a President or Former President should honor 9/11 on the 20th anniversary of the attack?

I believe he met with and spoke to both the NYPD and the FDNY. As a native New Yorker, it is possible that those visits were more sincere than the political posturing by the other presidents. Or not.

Do you think he was invited?

Should it be expected that a former President would only appear with other current or former Presidents?

Is it possible that you’re trying to make something out of nothing? Isn’t that divisive?

glennds, I don’t blame you for running with a false premise. It was all the rage this morning.

As an adult though, you should at some point start questioning the morning news narrative. Maybe wait a few hours.

I'm not trying to make anything out of it. I was just noting that he wasn't a part of the memorial activities. I then asked if it matters and whether his attendance should be expected.

You're quite right on the possibility that he wasn't invited. It's possible that he wanted to participate and just wasn't given the courtesy of an invitation. But I think you're wrong that I'm trying to make something out of nothing or dividing anyone. I was only asking for opinions. Is that divisive?

My guess is they didn’t invite him. The establishment is trying to erase him from history.

See my response to flyingpylon. I was only asking questions. Why so sensitive?
I think all I indicated is that Trump wasn't present at the memorial activities, that he made a visit to the NYPD and that he and his son are commentating a boxing fight tonight. Was any of that incorrect? My question - does it matter? Simple yes or no opinion. No narrative.

And how do you know I'm an adult? Presumptuous.

I didn't consider that possibility until flyingpylon floated it. You might be right.

No, it doesn't matter.

I presumed that you were an adult based on some of your previous commentary. But yes, it was a stretch.
