US States thumb noses at federal govt

There is medical and recreational MJ.
There are, as mentioned in the video, immigration enforcement sanctuaries.
All of these are example of returning to federalism. The feds could crack down at any time, but some things become too big to tackle. MJ is one example of that.
Can you think of other areas in which states could (re-)assert control and get away with it? I think it's a good trend, but I'm coming up blank.
