Ok, Bidens covid advisor is putting forward the idea of paying people to stay home for 4-6 weeks to contain spread.

We'll see how this winter develops but already I'm thinking that sounds a bit extreme.

Look at me disagreeing with one of my party's advocated positions!

I don't mean this disrespectfully... I am not sure how his opinion would matter? Biden is not president.

Maybe so Biden can say "I told you so" later?

How his opinion matter??? Like he is some dude at the bus station opining? We'll see what the numbers are as we get closer to innauguration day...I'm not really sure where our intrepid leader is. Perhaps in grief counseling?

I just ran models for my county. If the current R0 value stays constant and we do NOT have lockdowns... Covid would peak in my county in about 70 days (and basically be a non-issue in 120 days). So Biden steps into office, implements his "plan" for a month, immediately sees results, and takes credit for controlling a virus that simply ran through the population naturally.

So yes, when it comes to Covid, he appears at best to be an armchair quarterback. He is a typical filthy politician that is simply posturing for an "I told you so".

You might want to consider dumping this thread in the Politics section.

Kind of like Trump riding the economic coattails of obama...who inherited a shit show economic disaster. That's why I think it's kind of dumb to give credit to politicians for anything like this...it's too cyclical. If Covid disappears under Biden, only an idiot would credit him with that and compare it to Trumps failure....timing matters. That said, Trump still has done a shitty job...if only from the standpoint of communication.
