This is a new thread to contain a variety of political humor and satire (not "real" stuff). I'll kick it off with a couple of recent Babylon Bee articles:

Study Finds Connection Between Getting Your Way Politically and Calling for Unity

After Wiping Out Half the Universe, Thanos Calls for Unity

Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy and we shall have peace

I always liked this scene -

After we crush anyone or idea that we do not agree with and force our own ideology on everyone - We will have peace

Are you asking if the secrets she got while spending, I don't know how long (years?) with the congressmen have been made public?

Poor Tom. I heard the recording of him going off yesterday. I am not 100% certain, but I don't think he gives two craps about Covid. I think he was worried about people on the set getting caught in violation of whatever rules are in place now to "allow" people to work on films. He referenced how many people in his industry have been ruined because of this.

I think that's why he went off, not because he's worried about some stage hands standing close together and one of them catching a mild flu.

Yes, that's probably right. I suspect another factor that contributed to Cruise's rant was guilt. Restaurants and countless other small "non-essential" businesses in L.A. have been shut down for months, financially devastating their owners and employees. Yet people in the film industry are allowed to work right now because the government considers them "essential". (I'm sure money and political favors have nothing to do with that...)

Hollywood does contribute a lot of tax dollars. But last I heard, it’s not nearly enough to keep CA solvent. The state will need a massive federal bailout to avoid a financial disaster.

I heard it's a problem with demand. They just need demand "stimulated'. UBI will solve this. If you disagree you just don't understand human nature Turtleman. The people need money! They can't buy stuff if they gots no money!

Right. ::)

It's a problem with government income vs. expenditures. If you forcibly shut down most of the small businesses in your state (which CA did), your tax revenue goes way down. And if you don't correspondingly reduce expenditures on public employee salaries and benefits (which CA didn't), you run into an obvious cash flow problem.

I've got a Nobel Prize winning economist Mr. Paul Krugman who would beg to differ. The solution to a drop in tax revenue is to spend more on public employee salaries so they can pay more in taxes back and spend that money and then the recipients pay more. It's all very simple. What Kalifornia should do is make their own printing press. See if it works for the feds it will work for CA.

Rather than link to the Babylon Bee here we could start linking to Krugman's column for humor.

I'm asking if there are any specific damaging anything regarding her and Swalwell's relationship or whatever went on between them. I know little about this.

"A small percentage of the population said they thought it would be way more efficient for the economy if the government just didn't take the money in the first place. These people were shouted down as "libertarian conspiracy theorist wackos" and told to move to Somalia."

Ahahah, i have seen lefties on this forum write those EXACT words.
