That's not a very encouraging poster since the Boy Scouts have declared bankruptcy due to lawsuits for sexual abuse. Apparently they can't afford it the way the Catholic church has.

Good point. I viewed the poster of an illustration as to how far several parts of the country (citizenery?) and several organizations have fallen in just over 100 years - including the Boy Scouts. The shield and sword are good illustrations of offense and defense, both required for a long lasting organization/country. Or from my Lutheran perspective, both Law and Gospel are necessary but only one saves. Have you putting on the full armor? Ephesians 6:10-18

It may be even better than that for Trump. I was reading about how polling methods are inherently biased toward highly educated voters, and consistently undersample non-college educated voters - who are heavily in favor of Trump. This includes some of the key battleground states.

There are so many variables though that I wouldn't be surprised no matter who won the election. Hold on everyone, this one is going to make both the 2000 and 2016 elections look like a picnic.

I remember some commentary after the Supreme Court decision on the contested 2000 election results that put GWB in the White House: because there was at that time a general acceptance of the rule of law and deep respect for the Supreme Court, the nation at every level considered the matter settled. In many countries, a civil war might have erupted. It was a testament to the stability of the American system. I can only hope it will be the same this time around, should the election go to the Court to settle.

Looks like these former Trump voting seniors in Florida were not passed on the results of the "secret" poll! They are not behaving properly according to the poll!

Older voters helped propel him to the White House — the Pew Research Center estimates Trump won voters 65 and older by 9 percentage points in 2016 — and his campaign hoped they would be a bulwark to cement a second term.



On Wednesday, the scene in The Villages underscored that belief. An armada of as many as 500 golf carts gathered at the Sea Breeze Recreation Center to caravan to the nearby elections office to drop off ballots for Biden.

If the slow moving, four-wheel show of force is an indication of growing allegiance to the Democrat among the retiree set, it would represent a substantial shift.

Susan MacManus, a University of South Florida distinguished professor of government and international affairs, said The Villages and its powerful voting demographic have become less Republican over the years because of an influx of more liberal people from the Northeast.

She’s seen research that shows a softening in Trump’s older base, both nationally and in Florida — especially with women.

“That’s the group that’s leaving Trump,” she said. “And it’s because of his demeanor, more than his policies. For older women, especially. They went through the battles. They frankly do not appreciate the demeaning of women. More than that, they’re thinking of their children and their grandchildren.”


MacManus of the University of South Florida cautions that while some older voters have gravitated toward Biden, there are many others like Allen and Wise who are firmly in Trump’s corner.

“They’re still probably leaning more towards Trump. But in Florida, you look at margins,” she said. “He won the senior vote in Florida by double digits in 2016. And now we’re showing single digits in polls. ... Any bleeding of any cohort is a red flag for that candidate.”

And in this week’s golf cart caravan, the Biden flags were blue.

When I went to my friend's house on Thursday morning to see if she had electricity (I had not since about 4:30 PM the prior day) I saw that she had a Pence / Trump sign on her lawn. She lives about 10 minutes from me and hers was the only sign I'd seen anywhere for any candidate for anything!

However I'm with MangoMan on the deteriorating expectations for this election. You have to admit that the Trump campaign has been less than stellar. He is being out-campaigned by a guy sitting in his basement - that is pretty ridiculous! If he's got something up his sleeve he'd better come out with it soon. A lot of voting is already happening.

Yes, a lot of voting is already happening.
But no undecided voters have voted yet, almost by definition.
It's almost impossible to change people's minds who have already made them up, but those are the only ones voting early.
It will come down to turnout and getting more of the independents.
The turnout of Trump voters should be enormous; the anti-Trump voters (there are almost no Biden voters) maybe not so much.

If any of this were true, why are Republicans and Congress people running for re-election pointedly NOT using Trump in their campaign ads? Are they all ignorant of this "Secret Trump Voter" phenomenon?
