Oh my. A lot of interesting information in this poll. Most interesting to me is that people across the globe feel that the virus has a 6-10% death rate.
Americans think that the death rate is 9%. That of course would be 30 million people in this country dead from Covid.

Wow... It really does say that on average Americans believe that 9% of the population has died. That's (as the report notes) 225 times the actual number. How can people possibly believe that?? And a large number of people probably think it's much higher. Wouldn't that mean people expect 1 out of every 10 of their friends to be dead? Surely (with rare exceptions, perhaps) that isn't happening. So they must think that they're doing relatively okay, but it's really bad "out there".

It speaks to rampant innumeracy.
