I haven't read that book "White Fragility" and don't intend to but I've heard it's a classic example of circular reasoning - the best evidence of your white privilege is the fact you don't know you have it.
Speaking of "white", it isn't really clear what that is. I'm not an extrovert but I have consumed enough alcohol on occasion to give some people that impression. The one scenario I can imagine where the feature might help is if, while I'm writing my post, a new post appears that says almost exactly the same thing as what I'm about to say. But I don't think that's ever happened to me.
From a design perspective, I think the biggest problem with the feature is that it doesn't make it very obvious visually to the user that it's asking you to review a new post and click "Submit" a second time. Visually, it's too subtle.
That would probably require an admin modification by Xan. The workaround I use is to always click "Preview" before "Submit". That way the new-post warning (if any) shows up on the preview screen and doesn't interfere when you then immediately click "Submit".
