Move to Rural America

You can try moving to the suburbs, I guess… But as your nearest Democrat-run city descends into hell, your taxes will explode. Plus, you’ll be funding rotting schools, potholes, corrupt Democrat political machines, and self-destructive social justice programs.

Also, eventually, the blight moves outside the cities and into surrounding areas. Let me put it this way… If you do move to the suburbs, be prepared to move again the moment you see graffiti. Graffiti is always the beginning of the end.

The reason I recommend Rural America is because Democrats hate Rural America. They want their foofoo theaters and their foofoo cafes and their foofoo nightclubs. Rural America is Red America… I love it out here. Calm, peaceful, serene… Not a single drop of this social justice madness has touched my community.

1. I'm still unaware of any protests in Western Massachusetts being anything but peaceful.

...which may definitely affect how both the protestors AND the police act in response, given that, in general, each is probably the most educated of their peers in the country.

I doubt it; it looks like you're making a composition fallacy error. That MA has a large amount of graduate and doctorate degrees (most likely clustered around Cambridge) doesn't mean that local police or protesters are more educated than police and protesters in other parts of the country.

Western Massachusetts itself has 16 colleges / universities including the 30,000 student University of Massachusetts main campus and prestigious colleges such as: Amherst College, Mount Holyoke, Smith, and Williams. The only two "clustered around Cambridge" of prominence are Harvard and MIT. And, many people once they come to go to one of the schools within 45 minutes of me (all but Williams) they elect to stay living in the area. Which then leads to a lot of over educated people holding certain jobs.

You can see that Massachusetts is #2 in both Bachelor's rank and Advanced rank. Harvard has 6,800 undergraduate / 14,000 graduate. MIT has 4,500 undergraduate / 7,000 graduate. University of Massachusetts has 23,500 undergraduate and 7,100 graduate.

The University of Massachusetts has twice as many undergraduate students as those two schools but only about 1/3 as many graduate students.

However, then you have to compare the population of the Cambridge area to that of Western Massachusetts. The population of Cambridge is 122,000. The population of western Massachusetts is about 815,000.

The population of Massachusetts is 6.9 million. That leaves 6 million to Central and Eastern Massachusetts (the latter where Cambridge is located). And, where most of the population is located (Boston adjoins Cambridge with a population of 710,000).

Therefore, it seems that though the University of Massachusetts has 1/3 the graduate students of those two schools, it is in an area that is less than 1/6 the population.

Good to know there's been no rioting in Western Mass, Vinny. But apparently protests probably by the students who are highly unlikely to riot, thankfully.

I've been living in blessed peaceful quiet here in my out of the way, hard to access Manhattan neighborhood. Tech, I'm definitely going to watch to see what happens in the fall: first, the results of the mayoral election, and second, what the city does with property taxes and law enforcement. The good thing about NYC is that the police commissioner is as red as they come, and has more power than the mayor does, because de Blasio is a complete fool. If the NYPD budget is cut, that would certainly be a big red flag. They've been untouchable since 9/11 and it's crazy to think that might change.

Interesting story from today: On the grocery checkout line this morning, the woman at the register spotted my keychain pepper spray and asked me where I got it. She commutes to her job from a nearby neighborhood and has to travel at night, and decided she needed some protection. I was happy to tell her how to get it and encourage her to do so. Hooray for our side!
