I just started
Dirty Money while eating dinner.
EDIT: LMAO at Wells Fargo.
Excellent series. That's the next episode we plan to watch.
Still reeling from the
Guardians Inc episode.
I'll watch that one next then!
The Wells Fargo scandal and the associated perverse behaviour is rampant in the industry. Of course, at most banks it's nowhere near as as severe. However, the general "atmosphere" is exactly the same. It's one of the reasons why I quite working in finance.
What is it you do (sorry if you've told us already)? Mostly curious because of the not being laid off thing. Do you have nothing to do now?

No worries!
My time is basically split three ways currently: 1. I'm in school; 2. I do web development projects via sole proprietorship; 3. I work part-time for a major North American athletic apparel retailer.
No acting, music, or stand up gigs lately of course, so that's off the table.
Xan, what is it that you do?
EDIT: And yes, basically being paid by my employer for essentially no work. I'm incredibly grateful for the continued income and protection in this trying labour market.

This was certainly off-topic for the Netflix thread, so I moved it over here where we can discuss what we and various/our own employers are doing.
I have a small company that does services online for a niche industry, largely related to local city/town/county governments. We're fairly well insulated from the immediate economic devastation, although of course it might not take long to reach us.
Very nice that they're still paying you to do nothing. I don't know that I would be so generous! :-)

Yes, I always thought that my employer's whole "people first" ethos was just a bunch of hot air. A typical corporate platitude. They're really proving me wrong there, and I'm humbled as I eat my words.
My employer is one of the largest publicly traded apparel companies in the world, so having those big coffers helps I'm sure.
