These results are summarized in Figures 1 and 2. Drug effect was significantly higher in patients with symptoms of URTI and LRTI, as compared to asymptomatic patients with p<0.05 (data not show). "

I've seen reports in multiple reliable sources indicating a cautious optimism over this drug. If this turns out to be effective the world (sans Italy and China) may be about to dodge a bullet.

Hydroxychloroquinine has been approved by the FDA for this use in record time.
I can tell you if my wife or I get sick, I'm going to badger my doctor to prescribe it along with azithromycin.
I'm sure he'd rather do that than have us show up in his office.

Yes, I got the notice about it. It's approved for clinical trials only and those are getting underway now. Cautious optimism but it would be great if this pans out.

Not to be a Debbie downer, but what the hell are we going to create when a couple billion people are taking an antibiotic?

The anti-malarial makes sense. But adding the antibiotic to it seems to be risking something far worse in the future?
