Asking for a friend (really :) )

US resident temporarily living in Canada.

How much of their savings to have in Canadian vs US currency.

A few months worth of Canadian expenses? Other?

I assume US will be hit harder by Coronavirus than Canada.

But Canadian economy deoends a lot on US (at least, I assume so).

Not really looking to play the currency market, but got curious on people's thoughts on this....

It depends on how "temporary" temporary is. A couple months of expenses in Canadian cash for liquidity is probably not a bad ideal.

Well, considering The Australian and Canadian economies are similar, I would be holding USD's.
