Trump as tragicomedy

Re: Trump as tragicomedy
So, just as any rational person suspected, the exact things that Trump was excoriated for by the media, if done by Biden get a mild hand slap.
No wonder Trump called them fake news. That's probably his biggest achievement is exposing fake news for what it really is.

I dunno, this statement from the NYT article seems like a scathing rebuke of Biden:
I honestly don't know how Biden will recover from that journalistic assault. For Mr. Biden, the decision was a telling indication of how his more cautious instincts kicked in, as the responsibilities of managing a difficult ally led him to find ways other than going directly after Prince Mohammed to make Saudi Arabia pay a price.

For history books written 5, 10, 15, 25, 50 years from now regarding what had gone on for the last 20 years and what will be going on for the next 20 years.....what contemporaneous news sources do you think they will be relying upon as being definitive?

I think it's possible the near future books are going to use the New York Times and they're going to suck every bit as badly as the NYT.yankees60 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 7:17 pmFor history books written 5, 10, 15, 25, 50 years from now regarding what had gone on for the last 20 years and what will be going on for the next 20 years.....what contemporaneous news sources do you think they will be relying upon as being definitive?dualstow wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 4:42 pm ...

50 years from now, they'll include some of the (2016-?) New York Times to reflect on the dark days of non-journalism, anti-intellectualism, and victimhood culture the way we now look back on the cult of Mao.

Hate to tell you stuper1, but lockdown itself is political. It has nothing to do with science, facts, or any kind of reasonable logic of the 2+2 variety.
I've quit paying attention to political news. It's too painful. And have you noticed that without Trump to kick around on a daily basis, the feeding frenzy has now started to descend on Biden and Cuomo? It's like they just can't help wanting to tell you how much they hate someone. Anyone. Doesn't matter who.

But if they didn't, we'd call them out for their hypocrisy.WiseOne wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 10:18 am ...
