The point: Whatever we are alarmed about today will change, there will be a new cause for alarm as soon as this one drops in importance. The media must have something new to keep the masses engaged!

If you wish to crusade for placing a carbon tax on all of us "carbon based lifeforms" go for it. Have fun convincing the Chinese and Indians that they need to cripple their emerging lifestyle to make you feel good. This is somewhat off topic, but this whole "feel good" about stopping global warming/cooling/climate change smacks loudly of all those who "felt good" about electing a completely "non-experienced on running anything" goof ball in the white house whose ideology seems focused on tearing down rather than building up. Just look at the divisions that exist now versus several years ago; the chasms are growing to the point I will not be surprised if a revolution happens before I die, or at least before my children die. This climate change thing is just one more example of a "program" to divide us all even further.
Yes, that is an excellent point. If we adopt the position that global warming IS happening and global warming IS anthropocentric, so far the political solutions to the problem are a complete and ineffectual joke. So you can believe in the first two premises and still be against the latter. I shouldn't be so surprised that the S.O.S. is at play here. It really is a wonder that democracy even works.

Sounds like a quote from the Roman Catholic church in the Copernicus debacle.

Sure. You can't win a pissing contest with a skunk! Think about it.

Well when informative links are provided it's not really a pissing contest.
If you don't like references to "a consensus," surely more detailed data will give you the ability to pick things apart, since you seem to believe so strongly that the climate skeptics have a very compelling position?

My point is to say: Let's cast a skeptical eye on those who advocate U.S. violence on others as a means to security. Has it really worked? Why do people like Kristol and Kagan and McCain and Graham still have an audience? Why is Rand Paul dismissed? Why was Ron Paul ridiculed at Republican debates for these views?
Yes indeed. It just serves to keep the ignorant masses engaged in something other that what the real facts are - the sky is falling, we must act NOW! The pen and phone are all powerful. Power and control baby. As it once was, is now and will be forever (borrowing from some liturgical words).

I'm sorry I have misrepresented my thoughts. My central belief is "it does not matter" based on the so called evidence of both sides. There are more important things to concern ones self with. I find it hard to take seriously the endless bantering of who is right and who is wrong. It just keeps us focused on things that don't matter in the big scheme of things. If more compelling evidence is presented, by either side of the debate, I'm totally open to reevaluating my position. But for now, as Shakespeare says, "much ado about nothing", at least as I see it for now. The links provided are from the same source, and from my perspective, just as biased as links from the other side of the debate.

Have you really seen some of the alleged self-reinforcing affects of global warming?
If climate changers are correct, it could be a big effing deal.
So the only way it's "much ado about nothing" is if they're not correct, which you just claimed you're not so sure about.

I do not take material like this personally. My role is not to judge you or others, merely to do my best to point out what God's Word reveals about right and wrong and that believers are forgiven for the sake of Christ. Non-believers will be judged by God according to how well they lived up to His standards of absolute perfection. Unfortunately, there is no credit for partial perfection; it is all or nothing. And, there are only two outcomes of the judgement as revealed in Scripture: eternal life with Christ in glory and eternal damnation in Hell. Maybe there are others but those are the only two that God has chosen to reveal to us in Scripture.
