Incredibly, I'd already figured that out. Congrats on an awesome avatar, dualstow. I guess that says something about my past history as a trek convention attendee.

Good morning! What are you thankful for today? I like a beautiful sunrise. If I can't see one in reality, I visualize it in my mind. :)

Beautiful photo Mountaineer.

Today I am thankful that I am not one of the people whose inpatient studies it was my job to read from home today. They were almost all COVID+, even though many of them had conditions unrelated to COVID.

If you wish to stay awake, watch Invasion of The Body Snatchers- either the original or the one with Donald Sutherland.

You'll find encouragement that Forum members simply cannot provide.
That’s a classic flick from what I understand. I’ve never seen it, but i guess it’s time I check it out.

And here I was just thinking it was a great day for movie night.

This could have been a fun coding project.

Build an app that sends my browser history to all my contacts unless I manually reset the timer.

That would DEFINITELY keep me awake.

Congrats on figuring it out! I don't think I would have figured it out had someone else posted it. I did ride along to a convention with some friends once. I still have Marina Sirtis' autographed pic somewhere.

Smith1776,

The lesson in the first "Invasion of The Body Snatchers": stay awake or else.

Isn’t that the lesson in Nightmare on Elm Street, too?

Add that one to your list too, Smithy!

Will do, guys. Only 3 hours left! Home stretch!!

I'm really feeling the tiredness set in. I'm playing GTA V right now to keep myself awake...

And if the cops in the game don't like my speeding, I have "options" to deal with them that I don't in real life. >:D

Hehe today is much better. I almost made it to 10pm as planned last night. Dozed off at 9 something and woke up at around 5am. A solid 7+ hours of sleep should tide me over till this evening. If I can solidify this over the next couple of days I think I can call my sleep schedule fixed.

I'm not going to let it get messed up again any time soon. Ugh, slogging through yesterday was particularly brutal lol.

Yeah, the middle of the day slump is hitting me again. It's weird how the body's circadian rhythms have a "stickiness" to them, despite the fact that I got 7+ hours of sleep last night.

I don't think it'll be as bad as yesterday, but it'll probably take a couple more days of being vigilant against daytime napping for me to be fully back on track.

Haha, Quoth. It had to happen.

The note in The Week was about how the editor enjoys everything in his life a little more than he did pre quarantine. The fresh air, the sound of birds, access to food, texts from his daughter. He kind of took it for granted before, and now he was consciously appreciating everything. He came at it from a Buddhist perspective but still, it was very Mountaineer.

Oh man, I've got Smith-lag! Weird dreams at 2am that I moved into an apartment inside a metro station, and then no more rest. Now it's noon and I want to sleep!

I would totally join the Borg for an Ambien tonight.

I don't actually take Ambien. I did for one week, though, after failing to correct jet lag for an entire month. I had to practically wrestle my GP for a prescription, because he was also not a fan. I don't miss it.

The only thing I take is melatonin, and only a few times a month.
