There's almost $150 bid/ask spread on Kitco's gold pool.
Normal is $1.

It wasn't that much money but I still didn't want to have to explain it to my wife.

Mine always asks, “Are we...doing ok?” “Yes, Dear. We’re fine.”
End of financial conversation.

Now at 1688. That was a bad year.
Eh. Maybe I'm too superstitious.

Gold futures contract (GC1!) on TradingView. Looks like it pulled back a bit to $1710, but still over that psychological $1700 barrier.

My HSA was "stuck" at a certain level for a long time, I haven't been able to contribute for a long time due to lack of eligible health insurance. I just noticed it was up to 1.4x where it was stuck at, because the miners exploded. Newmont Goldcorp has been on a great run, in earliest 2020 I acquired Metalla and that just popped, I also have Franco Nevada and Wheaton Precious Metals (all of them except Newmont are royalty & streaming companies). And gold above $1700. Great stuff.
I got my ideas from
Lyn Alden.

I can get rid of my last bit of IAU today, yay!
(I don’t know exactly what it will look like on tax forms, Sophie, but it feels like breakeven).
The *lowest* per-ounce quote I can find right now is US $1730, wow.
Still stuck with some PHYS.

Physical metal is still way too pricey. IAU will have to do for now.

Looks like I caught it on one of those brief spikes on the chart. Talk about timing.

If it does, I'm picturing Tech and Mrs Tech popping the champagne.

Yes, that would be nice. Perhaps we should take a picture of our celebratory toast!

Awesome. That would bring me to the 25% gold allocation. Past it, really.

Amazing, almost 2.5 months since the last post in the gold scream room!
I figured I'd post this, because I don't see or hear anything about gold lately. At all.
