Anyone going to get a new iPhone 16 of some sort? I currently have an 11 Pro Max and am thinking it might be about time. Battery is about 85%.
I’m also thinking about an Apple Watch series 11 depending on the medical features that are available. I’ve never had one or anything similar. Any guidance?
The latest iPhones are a bit rich for my blood. What I'm hoping is that they update the iPhone SE. If they do, I'll jump on that to replace my aging iPhone XS Max.
I have a first generation Apple Watch that's still going strong. It's totally ancient, but amazingly it still works and does the basics well. I can't comment much on the ownership experience of the later generations, but having a tech product last almost 10 years is insane.

I predict that Smithers will be the first grandfather to give his grandchild an heirloom Apple watch

Hope you’re feeling better Vinny. Let us know how you are doing.
I went online today to check the results of my test and all were negative for :
Covid-19
Influenza A PCR
RSV PCR
Influenza B PCR
When I work up this morning I thought it was gone but the coughing started right back in.
I did consume a can of soup in the morning. Was on my feet for six straight hours for my own team and other team's softball games (we surprisingly won both of our games).
Went out for two huge slices of pizza.
By the time I got home got in bed about 8 PM for some bed rest. Got up a short while ago to catch up on my online life.
Have not yet used the inhaler all day but may use it prior to going to bed for good.
But glad to see that the tests reveal I have nothing serious and it could be just old fashioned cold / sickness.

A big "thumbs up" on your report. Glad you don't have any of those illnesses.

Part of the reason why I never had a sick work day in my life. I went to work many days when I'm sure many other people did not. But if I could get the work done then I went.
Went from 8th grade to 12th grade and then a total of 5.5 years of college with never missing a day due to sickness.

Same here. I have an iphone 6s that is still chugging along (one battery change) but I will swap out as soon as the new SE comes out.
At my previous job I had an iphone 12 which was upgraded to the 14 when the office switched carriers. The 12 was a huge improvement (camera and speed) over my 6s (duh!) but I couldn't tell any improvement between the 12 and 14.

I don’t have an iphone but I’m holding on to my ipad with its lightning charge & headphone jack for as long as I possibly can. The headphone jack is actually more important to me than any AI features.

Isn't there some kind of adapter you can connect to a C so as to be able to plug in a headphone?
Something like this?

I do have one, or rather I bought one for my phone. I lost it. Eventually, I’ll have one attached to my headphones and it’ll be harder to lose, because there will be no ⅛” jacks left to switch to.

On Sunday I somehow lost my right Apple Airpod Pro.
I had been using them to listen to music while eating pizza. I remember asking myself if I should keep the music going and listen through them on my walk back to the car. But I told myself I'd walk back in silence.
When I restarted my phone that should have prompted me to take them out and put them in their case. Which is why I was surprised when I was in the car and I realized they were still in.
Once I got home I walked out of my car to sit outside for about 20 minutes then came in the house.
I took the left one out but then was shocked to find the right one was not in my right ear.
Retraced my steps outside and looked inside the car but did not find it. Therefore best guess is that it fell out somewhere between the pizza place and the car (I called the pizza place and no one turned one in there).
This is the leadup to asking what recommended WIRED similar headphones / phone devices there are. I'm more interested in their phone performance than the audio experience.

It looks like no iPhone SE update. Darn.
Maybe I'll get the 14 (which has moved down in price), or a refurb 13. Hmmm.
I'm trying to move to a morning gym routine now, too. I haven't done that in ten some odd years maybe.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a "Find My" feature embedded with AirPods?

There is. It works so long as the AirPods are *not* in a closed case and have some battery left.

Fingers crossed. It looks like the last of the summer heatwave has finally passed in my part of the world. Temps in the near future shouldn't exceed 20 something celsius, and should steadily trend downwards. Whew.

Not cheap but by far the best ear buds I've ever used for phone, music, boosting ambient sound or reducing it. Soon to be able to used for hearing aids too. On sale at Costco for about $200 including 2 years of Apple Care+.
Apple AirPods Pro 2. You might look them up and read the various reviews and capabilities. I mention these as you say you are a more is more guy and these AirPods are definitely more. ;-)

As detailed below or somewhere else I did buy a pair of used Air Pod Pros from Craigslist in 2020 for $80. Problem was that it was the right one that fell out of my ear, forever to be lost, a week ago Sunday. Which is why I'd like to go for wired ear buds that connect to my phone via wire so in case they fall out of my ear .... they are still connected to the phone.
Also, I was never impressed with the music listening experience. I expected much better.

FYI the AirPod Pro 2 have 4 different size ear adapters from extra small to large. You might find a good fit. You can Google to find out all the info.

I paid $200 for Musicians ear plugs to protect my ears from loud music but which reduce all the frequencies evenly as opposed to all the others which reduce some frequencies more than others, which does not lead to the best music listening experience.
The audiologist took molds of each of my ears so that these ear plugs are custom fit to my ears. Once I put them in they are not going anywhere.
That is my new standard for anything that goes into my ears in a secure fashion.
In addition to losing this Air Pod Pro 8 days ago ....a few years ago I was in my car talking to a friend on the phone using regular Air Pods. I stopped for 5 minutes to do recycling. Then came home. Somehow one of those came out of my ear either during the 5 minutes at recycling or in the car. I did not even notice it falling out while talking on the phone. Therefore, at this point, I'd prefer to go with wired ear buds since without having to have either bluetooth or battery capabilities it seems like they'd also be of better value than the non-wire ear buds.
That's my current reasoning.
Right now I'm using wireless Sennheiser to listen to music while outside. This headset is not going anywhere!

Part solution. Still waiting for specific recommendations for wired ear bugs that first work great with phones and, possibly, also good for music listening.
