I'll take a portion of the blame... Part of me refuses to allow the following:

2) To argue discussions on government, morality and property from the premise of me being "violent" or advocating violence, and Kshartle (or whoever I'm debating) having figured out the One Moral Truth. 


So I am the one that pushes a debate about rules about horses in Central Park into such a deep realm that allows these discussions to go on and on.

And I am a bit stubborn about clarifying the validity of certain premises and hashing them out, or applying historical perspective, especially if they have huge moral/functional implications for me, my investments, or society.

So I certainly think I have contributed to stretching these debates out 15 pages in a day.  I just haven't done it on the premise that 1) I'm the only one that understands the One Moral Truth, and 2) most of the rest of you are violent or advocate violence while I'm sitting on a moral pedestal.

That's true. However, despite previous warnings, his language has gone beyond "aggressive or abrasive". He has become verbally abusive towards those who don't view the world as he does.

And, to be honest, it's made the forum a rather unpleasant place to have the kinds of conversations we strive for.

I'm sorry, but when you reach the point of calling a moderator a "liar", and his opinions "stupid", there should be consequences for that. Clive was permanently banned for a similar offense, if you remember.

I tend to agree. My patience for Kshartle's rudeness is wearing extremely thin, especially as it devolves into outright insults.

if a post is over the line, report it and let the moderators deal with it..

derailing a thread into discussions about other posters is just as likely to get it locked as any other discussion that is all heat and no light...

This thread has already been thoroughly derailed and the tracks are nowhere in sight. Might as well lock it.
