the problem is study's show bad investor behavior is not limited to any particular portfolio allocation . it is pretty bad right across the board regardless of being aggressive or conservative .

the results are caused by just losing money and being down . you would think that it would be the case that balanced portfolio's show less investor bad behavior but they don't .

in fact many conservative funds have worse investor returns than the fund got when compared to more aggressive funds just because they are likely more skittish investors .

how inclined to stay do you think a skittish investor new to the pp looking for protection after brexit would be when he looked and saw close to double digit losses by years end .

one of the only funds i could find in the conservative category which had a tight spread between what investors got and what the fund got was wellesly income .

they seemed to be one of the few conservative funds that at least was close to par .

but it could be because the fund is not promoted a lot , nor is it in many or any 401k's and 529's either . it is really a fund promoted on investing and retirement forums like boglehead's or the early retirement forum so you may just have a higher level of investors than typical who exhibit better behavior . .

Good work! Fun info and thanks for posting, even though I'm just sticking with the Standard Standby Permanent Portfolio.
