Excellent post, Tortoise. As far as I can see, it's something between a & b. There are racist cops out there, and there are reasons why they might (unfairly) be more likely to shoot a black suspect. And I understand the anger.
However, it bothers me that so many people fail to scrape the surface of what's going on. "A lot of people are dying at the hands of police, therefore the police must be targeting them."
* No. There is so much more to learn beyond that first statistic. Starting with the black police officers in the Freddie Gray case.
*That's not a real quote from any one person. Just something I encounter here and there in life from various people and from comments on various websites.

I wish. I'm no Christopher Walken.

Harvey Keitel, no?
He he wasn't in New York City.
Pulp Fiction was in SoCal.
Maybe there was a Walken Mr White, but the Mr White I know was Harvey Keitel in
Reservoir Dogs, not Pulp Fiction.
It does take place in LA though.

For shame!!! Go straight to watching this operatic classic:
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/king_of_new_york/
People walked out of the theatre at the premiere... such a conservative world back then in 1990.
I consider that,
True Romance and
The Prophecy to be among Walken's best performances.

How about the way they dispatched the sniper? Bomb disposal robot --> bomb robot.
First time.

It's hard to keep this stuff straight!
Mr. White in
Reservoir Dogs is related to Jimmie Dimmick in
Pulp Fiction.
And Alabama in
True Romance was RD's Mr. White's working partner in the original script where she didn't have a happy ending (though you can see that original ending on the Special Edition).
I guess the BB Mr. White doesn't have any six degrees of connection yet? I haven't seen the new prequel show yet.

Tortoise wrote:Certain types of people tend to act too cavalier, know-it-all, and defiant when interacting with cops, and they are the ones who are 10x more likely get shot in police encounters. It's pretty simple: When dealing with cops, you show respect and obedience--period. You shut your damn trap except for "yes, sir" or "no, sir", and you pretend like you're a robot who can't move unless the cop explicitly commands you to. The problem is that black culture inculcates defiance and disrespect towards all authority figures, especially cops. The tragic result is predictable.
This is too good not to share:
Pine Bluff, Ark. man lays claim to diplomatic immunity to get out of a speeding ticket, but it turns out that he is not a representative of the (fictitious) Conch Republic. Eighth Circuit: That’ll get you 57 months in prison.

Yes that was a great use of modern technology!
