I"m not sure if that's it or not. It was a while ago. Definitely had the Stansberry name all over it.

I had the below in a text file so I guess it was waiting to be posted here:
In the mailbag, encouraging words from OneBlade charter members. As you might recall, in early July, I invited subscribers to become among the first users of a new men's luxury shaving tool I've spent more than $1 million developing. Since then, I've gotten several follow-up questions about the tool and the business. I wanted to wait until I got actual user feedback to reply. You'll find a few reviews below.

To answer questions about the business, so far, it's going well. We've exceeded our initial sales goal ($100,000). And far more important, we've gotten overwhelmingly positive feedback from both our customers and the "shave trade" press. Thank you to everyone who has sent well-wishes for my new venture. And for the critics… well… critics never start businesses, do they?

Please remember: we read all of your letters but cannot respond to your notes individually. Send your questions and comments to feedback@stansberryresearch.com.

"I've been using the Oneblade razor for about a week. It feels like using a straight razor on myself, but it's much easier and faster and more rich than any other razor I have ever used. The look and the weight and the balance and the overall design is really top notch. The shaving angle and position was right on point – just like my way of shaving clients with a straight razor. The guard is the right way for the blade to be when its plowing on the surface of the skin… it's probably the best razor ever made." – Paid-up subscriber G.D., professional barber

"Just a very quick note to tell you that my new OneBlade Razor arrived today… What a great razor! It is designed beautifully from packaging to product – not a flaw. And you are most correct in stating that it is the best shave that I have ever received! I've tried 'em all, and this is the one, the Messiah of razors. Thanks for producing such a fine piece of shaving equipment. To do so takes lots of time, money and effort. It shows." – Paid-up subscriber Bob W.

"The package arrived yesterday, and I had a 3-day growth in anticipation of its arrival. Your promotion of its qualities sets a high bar, and I wanted to be sure to test that. I started my shave, and was immediately amazed. In fact, I had to touch my face and check the razor – I thought I must have forgotten to put in the blade! This baby does not just cut whiskers – it spirits them away like magic. No pull, no bite, no drag, no nuthin. It was like re-shaving an already shaved face – not plowing through 3 days of heavy beard. And believe me, I know the struggle of a 3-day removal project using any of the 3/4/5 blade cartridge setups. Now what of the weight and balance of the razor itself? It's perfect. Well done team! I'll admit – I cringed a bit when providing my credit card for a $299 razor. 'What am I doing – this can't be worth that much for 15 minutes in the morning,' I sighed. But I can truthfully report – this will be the last razor I ever own, and frankly, I now believe I underpaid." – Paid-up subscriber Nicholas J.

Porter comment: I'm sure a lot of my longtime subscribers shook their heads when I introduced a luxury shaving razor. I mean, what does an economic scribbler from Baltimore know about razors, steel, skin, and whiskers? The answer is only that I hated the cheap plastic products that are widely available on the market and I figured at least a few people besides me probably felt the same way.

I didn't pretend to know anything else, so I hired a fantastic industrial design team in New York. They spent thousands of hours with prototypes and studying the dynamics of what creates a safe and satisfying shave. In all honesty, the product turned out way better than I imagined. I love shaving now. And I'm happy to see that the people who bought this product simply because they trust me haven't been disappointed.

Now… what about the folks who don't have any idea who created OneBlade? What about real independent reviews by experts? If you want to see a tough third-party review, check this out. This is a well-read "shaving blog." The author bought the razor and independently reviewed it.

If you like to shave with a "wet" razor and you're not 100% satisfied with the tool you've been using, please give OneBlade a try. I guarantee you'll love it. You will be blown away with the sharpness, the ease of use, and the beauty of our tool.

Oh, by the way, each of our razors is individually numbered. Please do me a favor… if you write in with a review of OneBlade (either here or on a blog), please remember to cite your handle number. I shaved with No. 0039 this morning. Order yours here.

old thread.

Does anyone use a shavette? i.e., a straight razor handle that takes a disposable blade?
I'm intrigued by the slim AL by Focus from Italy.

Used to shave every day when in high school As soon as I went to college I stopped and have had a continuous beard since 1977. I've only daily regularly shaved one year since, the only year in which I also daily wore a suit and tie. Now once a week my beard is trimmed extremely short using a trimmer and I use an electric I acquired used in 1974 to do any necessary trimming.

For me, daily shaving with a non-electric shaver was always an exercise in pain and, in all cases, a waste of time.
