I have a Chromebook that only gets used for quick internet browsing because there's no lag for it to boot up. Unlike the Chrome software on a Windows machine there appears to be no (software) way to disable the microphone. I sure as hell didn't 'opt in' to this secretive 'feature'. Short of getting rid of the device, I'm not really sure what options I have.
