My dream job would be to be a college lecturer who earns about as much as I currently make as an engineer. Which isn't going to happen in the existing world.
No grant proposals, no publish-or-perish... just lecturing and creating educational software to supplement the lectures and help the students visualize the relevant concepts. Forty hours a week on average and no pressure to "produce" anything other than students who finish the course feeling confident that they've mastered the material and want to learn more about it. That would be my dream job.
