Gold is primarily what separates a PP investor from the mainstream 60/40 equity/fixed income allocation. When gold rises in response to an unexpected increase in inflation, geopolitical tensions or a drop in the USD, I feel vindicated for owning the metal - but, it is still my least favorite asset to own.

We've all got an asset that's our least favorite for emotional reasons. Anyone who'll tell you otherwise is probably not being honest with himself! :)

Maybe I'm the world's shallowest human but I like any asset that's going up.
