All anarchists are "deep anarchists", whether they know it or not.  What this means is the "state" is a hallucinotion that others believe in and use coercive force to specifically make it reality.  After all, the "state" does not literally exist.  It is a meme.  But this is a little too "New Age" for almost all people, so it is more comfortable to debate philosophy and logistics.
Careful MG. Concepts like the state not literally existing absolutely blows minds here. Same with nation, society, forests etc.

The state may not exist from the standpoint of consciousness, but much like the term "forests," it does help to organize how things are structured as groups.

It's important to make that distinction... Especially when we have a government specifically designed with checks and balances, where no one person has true full control of anything. It will tend to behave sort of like a Ouija board.

In the end though, you're right that we shouldn't attribute traits to a thing that don't apply. A government, as an entity in the minds of individuals, does exist, but "it" doesn't "make decisions."  It isn't moral or immoral, on a fundamental, drilled-down basis.

I think Obama is going to go down pretty hard. It seems the presidents are usually hung out to dry by the media in the 2nd term.

He's gotten a lot more passes than Bush or Clinton did because any criticism is labeled as racism but I think that line is used up. I think he has a rough time in front of him and the legacy will be obvious horrible failure.

Not that I vote or care, just an observation. He will be turned on by the media I think.
