Going up strong. Up 11% on the junior etf since purchase and lots more upside to go. Adding a little every day. I believe institutions are adding this incredibly volitlle fund to spice up returns.

I hope you guys are getting in on the bandwagon. Up 5% on the juniors today. It's getting legs. We had an article on Marketwatch.com about contrarian gold basically repeating what I wrote two weeks ago.

This says it all  … It's not what you buy but when…. How do you spell blood in the streets?  I started this thread first of the year and was trashed by the experts.

GDXJ up 26.79% YTD  1/18/14

Exactly where were you trashed?

Sorry, I meant in another thread on Marketplace.com. It's a harsher crowd over there.

Yeah, we're almost spoiled over here, as most of us are decent to each other most of the time.  :)
Not the case for a lot of forums out there.

It's true. Even our "Austrian economics vs MR" and "rights and morality" debates look positively tame in comparison to most forums.

Even gold being down 12 bucks this morning isn't stopping the miners. Very encouraging.

Yes it is interesting the miners are not down hard, up actually, in a falling gold price. No one is selling all out anymore as the bottom has been seen. The miners are priced for $300 gold and we are a long way from that.

If gold could actually catch a bid and jump $100.....these stocks are going to break out and post 25% or more I think. I am so overweight I am probably unable to objectively look at it. I guess if I actually recognize that possibility I might still be rationale.

With gains over 20% since Jan 1, you might start to see a profit taking event giving late comers a chance to climb into GDX and GDXR (the largest gainer).  I might put some stops in tomorrow in case we get a selloff and get back in. I always seem to sell to early on these things. The facts are most of the people haven't entered yet so even though the gains are significant, they pall to what it was if you look at the charts. I still feel fairly safe here but another 20% gain in a short period of time, would be place to put in some tight stops.

Good luck with the trading. It never works out for me.

I'm not selling the miners and explorers until gold breaks well past $2k and people are piling into it. Of course I have a strong conviction this will happen within the next couple years....you might not.

It's a great morning to be portart. Not that I want stocks to fall, but I hope we have many more days like this as far as THE MINERS' performance is concerned.

Old portart did some take in some profits yesterday and of course, my timing was off. However, I kept a nice sum. I always do this to myself but it's usually profit. Actually the miners didn't go nuts up today but they got back what they lost yesterday. Will be chance to buy more but it was yesterday as it turned out. I had over 20% profit in less then a month and wanted to stick some of that in my pocket. Made 10k so it was a nice trade. If it gives back below my selling price, I may buy some back in. One thing I am confident in. At year end these miners will be green. It's how much we don't know.
