I bought this Nutiva coconut oil from Amazon:

It's lasted more than a year and I cook with it nearly every day. One of the most cost-effective food purchases I think I've made.
You can often find this stuff at Costco for a few bucks cheaper, too. Same size.

I second that. Nutiva is definitely one of the best brands out there. Very high standards. It was also among the top ones in
that list I linked to.

I ordered the Nutiva CO and plan on eating it raw as we don't cook that much. Thanks!

I used to used Jarrow, but switched to NUtiva and I agree it is one of the better ones.

Let us know how that goes. My wife and I have been encouraging her parents (who are in their 70's and her mom has early-stage Alzheimer's) to start using coconut oil. Trouble is, they don't cook much anymore and it's difficult to find acceptable ways to consume it. They've tried eating it raw but let's just say there were various digestive issues. I think the oil they used was decent stuff, but they may need to start out very slowly to get used to it.
And Gumby, thanks for sharing that link for picking high-quality coconut oil.

I will. At the very worst I could mix it into my full fat Greek yogurt or add to a protein shake.

Sorry about that. I haven't been attracted to any other forums. Most forums are usually groups of similar people. I tend to think the diversity of individuals — with probably the only commonality is that we each have a different favorite asset within the 4x25 — is what makes this forum so great. You don't really find that anywhere else.
I tend to listen to podcasts when I want a change of pace. I can't stand anything serious these days, so I'm on a comedy kick now

Unless they are carefully moderated most forums seem to deteriorate into rant-filled fests of name-calling, slurs (ethnic, gender, age, dental integrity, size, etc.), auto-posted sales pitches for viagra, and the like.
There are a few I participate in, primarily through lurking (May seem contradictory, but it's a time-honored tradition). They're all email based, and none are related to personal finance like this one.
