Christina:

I was damn serious about being happy with the portfolio.
That's what I said. Then folks here told me what I really meant.
Attack dogs on here thinking it's a right of passage to smile thru losses.
Interesting..

I am sorry if you felt that any responses were attack dog-like.

That is not the kind of forum we are trying to operate here.

I read most of them as just various attempts to be funny, but my apologies if you felt that you were being attacked.
Q: “Do you have funny shaped balloons?”
A: “Not unless round is funny.”

Annie, as one of the people who thought you were being sarcastic, I hope you don't think that misinterpretation was an attack.

But c'mon: you ignored repeated attempts to elicit an unambiguous answer, and for whatever reason, you deprived us of any semblance of a straight response. So we filled in the gaps with jokes. Not jokes at your expense, but jokes.  Lighthearted jokes.

Look at the keywords above everything but your last line: flat, down, bleeding. Now those are mathematically accurate, but why follow that up with with,  "thank you" or "I see how it works" or "I wish I had discovered this sooner"? How is anyone supposed to take that as anything but sarcasm? You're the author of the gold scream room. You were panicking. We get it. And now you've seen the light because...you're down 6%? Something's missing here.

Hi, I just came out of the ER and the surgeon only slipped three times. I also have a couple strange infections that I didn't have prior to surgery. Thanks, Doc! Thumbs up! Whoo!

Were you trying to say, "Gold is down, but cash is stable"? Or, "I'm glad I'm only down 6% overall and not the % I'd be down if I were all in gold"?

Well, there's something concrete. I hope you understand why many (most?) of us had no idea before that statement.

It must be my southern drawl.
The scream room was for fun.

And you guys are so darn quick.
I really do think the portfolio is great.
I looked for it for 40 years and Harry lived just down the street.
No hard feelings here.

Literally or figuratively?

I ask because several people here either met Harry Browne, lived near him or knew him.

I live about 4-5 miles from Franklin,Tennessee.
Harry lived there for years. And died there.
I'd never heard of him.My loss.
