Agree. I forget about the exact values for interpreting A1c.

The never going more than a few hours without food is not mandatory for everyone. This was created for "hypoglycemics" but is a more individual thing. They are trying to advocate smaller more frequent meals rather than less frequent larger meals which can really elevate your blood sugar if you are not careful with food choices. Some people will "crash" i.e. lower blood sugar if they don't eat frequently enough, but there is something called "intermittent fasting" which is the rage in certain circles (e.g. weightlifters) for maintaining low body fat and many people do just fine and even thrive not eating for long periods of time. Like many things it depends and some people do better on different protocols.

I came here for financial advice, but I've ended up with a bunch of shave soaps and apparently am about to start eating sardines.
Not that I'm complaining, of course.
