But to answer your question asked elsewhere, Vinny:
No, I don’t think you’ll be able to type texts on your PC if you have an iPhone. You need a Mac for that.
Every other phone: you can still use messages.google.com or an app. (
Edit: I’m wrong)
(You
would be able to use messaging apps like Telegram)
Looks like the iPhone connectivity was added (to Windows 11) in 2023.

Vinny, it's funny that you started this thread, as I recently picked up an Android phone after being an iPhone user for 17 years. (Wow, time flies.)
I didn't want to commit, so I picked up the Samsung Galaxy A06 for $122 CAD off of Amazon as an Android "tester". It turns out that this particular model of Galaxy was never released in my country, so this is technically an import. It's got a pretty meager 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
But, man... I am REALLY impressed by this thing. Even though it's the most basic of base models, it does stuff that no iPhone model can do. (The multi-window multi-tasking for instance.) And, c'mon, these price points are insane. A hundred bucks for a brand new and perfectly serviceable phone? Who can complain?
I'm thinking of making a full time switch to Android. If so, I'll probably pick up the Galaxy A36 as my long-term fixture. The A06 will stick around as a back up or media player in the house.

For $100 I got the Motorola with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
Arrived today and copied all from prior phone.
Bought an expensive case, a screen protector, and wireless charger for it.
Modern phones no longer get supplied with their own plug in power adapters?

Also, was informed that I can use Google Messages on Macbook Air to interact with messages on my Android phone.

My favorite thing about Android phones is Swype.
Apple has a similar feature (it always gets around to copying the good stuff eventually), but it’s just not the same.

Yup. I’ve done that, in a browser tab, anyway. Where there’s a browser, there can be Google Messages. No bluetooth connection required. But, I like to keep that on one device and one browser tab. If you change devices, you have to connect all over again.

My phone allows me to limit charging to 80% of capacity. That should extend life

I learned that this new 2025 Motorola Stylus phone also does allow that. I turned it on.

People at my office are going to the restroom talking on their cell phones.
The splish-splash of the urinals... the flushing sounds... the groans and fart sounds of stall users... Who does that? Isn't that terribly embarrassing to themselves and rude to the party on the other end?
They need to be sent to CECOT immediately!

More than 15 years ago, I heard an actress (comedian?) complaining about this. Actually, she was just trying to go to the bathroom and the woman in the stall next to her yelled, “Don’t flush!” I guess it was drowning out her conversation. Can you imagine.
New York.

I've been on my cell phone while using my portable bathroom empty peanut butter jars but I don't think anyone has heard the sounds of it.
Just cannot help it when these large organizations keep you on perpetual holds! I cannot no longer hold it on my end!

I’d forgotten all about your jars!
Should I rename the thread to Jars & Bars?

Those jars are STILL going strong. Don't like when I'm not home and it gets wasted. Used their product extensively in the vegetable garden this year.

Excellent! Much better than Pee on Peas.
