Frontline documentary featuring 3 poor families in the U.S.  They started out middle- to lower middle class.
The kids do most of the talking.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/poor-kids/

The hardest part to watch was when one family had to give their dog up at the pound. The dog's face changed when she realized everyone was walking away from the cage.

I can't view on my work computer but my God if I hear one more time what a paragon of libertarianism or Anarchy that Somolia is...........

My counter is that the Nazi death camps are just universal health care on steriods.

Emmy-winning documentary on ducks on Nova.

Infographic for those with a short attention span.

My favorite part: "a close relative of modern ducks lived alongside dinosaurs more than 65 million years ago."

Let's liven up the mood around the forum a little. If you are missing the excitement of Christmas and New Years then I have just the cure for you, Iron & Wine "The Desert Babbler" (4 minutes):

http://youtu.be/UR91PtGFpEg

I love the lyrics as well:
The Desert Babbler wrote:It's New Year's Eve
And California's gonna kill you soon
The Barstow boys
Bug eyes in the shadow of the moon

Black houses in the hills and roadside haunts
Dying for a place to fall apart
Who knew what you could learn to live without
Mother Mary's dying in your mouth, now

Back home the kitchen's warm with Christmas wine
And every girl has got an axe to grind
You live to look for heaven
But you're far from the hard light tonight

So quietly we lost another year
The desert put a babbler in your ear
He will find a way to not miss you again
Barstow boys all spit into the wind

Back home the hammer always has to fall
Cross is barely hanging on the wall
Some day I know you'll never leave me
But we're far from the hard light tonight

I don't think we have to worry about that. The Anti-Christ will have great popularity worldwide, which certainly lets Obama out.

(Note: This is my third-hand understanding, not definitive truth. Also, I'm not a Christian.)

its probably just pointless Obama bashing (pointless because there are plenty of legitimate complaints and worries to have)
i sorta doubt even the Hebrew is correct, not to mention the pretty wishy washy nature of biblical code and interpretation of biblical code (if it exists)... still somebody went to some trouble to put it together and it did manage to strike me as entertaining.

I realize the BO post was in jest (I think!) but just in case anyone has interest in how to determine the anti-Christ(s), here is a place to start:

The New Testament predicts that the church throughout its history will witness many antichrists (Matt. 24:5,23-24; Mark 13:6,21-22; Luke 21:8; 1 John 2:18,22; 4:3; 2 John 7). All false teachers who teach contrary to Christ's Word are opponents of Christ and, insofar as they do so, are anti-Christ.

However, the Scriptures also teach that there is one climactic "Anti-Christ" (Dan. 7:8,11, 20-21, 24-25; 11:36-45; 2 Thessalonians 2; 1 John 2:18; 4:3; Revelation 17-18).

i used "the/an" antichrist, because i was aware of the many/final anti Christ reading of scripture you describe, its nice to have you post the places to look i couldn't have provided them...

San Francisco on the eve of the big earthquake and fire... April 16th 1906. Eleven minutes of film footage showing Market Street two days before the big one. I think the camera was mounted on the front of a trolley car. The footage is unbelievable.
