Well it's not QUITE as intimidating as the T-800, although it does resemble it a fair bit.
That must be the T-100 lol.

Based on feedback I've received by forum members I've simplified the portfolio to the following. My OP on page 75 has been updated as well.
The All-Terrain Portfolio
Prosperity
- Global small cap value (VVL.TO) - 25%
Deflation
- Global intermediate government bond ladder (XGGB.V) - 25%
Inflation
- Long/flat commodities fund (CCOM.TO) - 25%
Recession
- Treasury bills (CBIL.TO) - 25%

Is the visual formatting of the forum showing up weirdly for anyone else?

I have too much whitespace between my formatting buttons and the textbox in the compose screen but that only carried over to a published post once. I deleted it and reposted it, but it still looks weird.

I was reminded of Claude Shannon, the founder of information theory, through Tyler's interview with securityanalysis.org.
I finally decided to pick up Shannon's seminal work: The Mathematical Theory of Communication.

It always amazes when old books like this are still selling on Amazon for a healthy price used. Still too expensive for me to buy on a whim, just to have in case I might want to read it some day.

A good point! I should add that the only reason why I pulled the trigger on the purchase is because Amazon canada offered me a $35 gift card if I signed up for a credit card.
I just won’t use the credit card.

Another inspiring factor is the idea that information theory is even more fundamental than physics.

Musk is on the record saying this but doesn't appear to be the only one with this idea. I believe it was John Archibald Wheeler that pioneered the idea of "it from bit".

However I think you fell for another financial myth that a coworker of mine used to always fall into. She'd tell me something only cost so much because she used some credit or reward to help pay for it. I could never get through to her that that rewards, credits were equivalent to real money that could have been spent on anything else. So, in a sense, she really was paying full price for those items.
Similarly, you could have used that $35 gift card to buy a total of 4 or 5 other used books.

That is fine. Just don't fool yourself that you did not pay full price for it as that $35 gift card could have been saved to be used on anything else. The only way it was saving money on that particular book was if it could only be used for that book.
You probably made a wise purchase no matter how you paid for it and will get valuable information from it. Looks like a classic.

When you guys finish it, let me know if I should add it to the booklist sticky (which is in the Politics section) or if I should add it to a non-political list.

I'd say non-political.
Though it uses politics for many of its examples .... the latest was a discussion of the "brainwashing" during the Korean War.
Also lots and lots on the power of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp - Social Media - how fast they can distribute information, how responsible the platforms are, how much the platforms try to prevent the problem.

Amazon's shipping never disappoints! Maybe I should have picked Jeff Bezos in that entrepreneur thread lol.
I'm going to try and keep that PP book cameo as my signature in forum pictures!

Lunch from my favourite noodle place in Edmonton: Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles.
If any of you guys are ever in town, get the signature stir-fried noodles. They're damn good.

Cool. It appears that “mogouyan” means ‘along the worn out ditch’
I don’t see a book in the background. YOu must carry it at all times! (Actually, that would make for dangerous bike riding, wouldn’t it)
